With nearly 7 billion phones, tablets and PCs in use in the world by the end of 2016 – mobile technology will continue to change the way we live, work and play (Gartner, 2017). We did very little configuration to the application provided by IBM, and were able to install the mobile application on the corporate mobile devices for over 1000 end users in a very short time frame. This allowed the reporting of incidents and hazards in the field and offices to occur in near real-time. Notifications to senior management of serious incidents was immediate, and notification of environmental issues were available to the appropriate EHS management staff on a real-time basis. This is just one example of the immediate benefits that can be gained from implementing a set of mobile applications linked directly to your EAM system.
