BPD Zenith Joins Oil and Gas Innovation Hub in Aberdeen
On 2nd October, our very own Sarah Brady met First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon and Chief Executive of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC), Colette Cohen in Aberdeen as they unveiled a new state-of-the-art facility to drive innovation in the oil and gas industry, and accelerate new technologies to help unlock the full potential of the UK North Sea.
The OGTC Hub is an exciting new space, working in partnership with the industry and over 50 technology providers to develop solutions to tackle challenges including asset integrity, well construction, exploiting small pools and decommissioning.
As a member, BPD Zenith will support the OGTC’s goals to accelerate technology transformation, taking solutions from early stage concept right through to deployment. As a business, BPD is continually focused on adding value to its clients and would like to continue to support the industry by helping to reduce lift costs, especially in the North Sea where maturing assets are exposed to increasing maintenance and personnel costs.
Specifically, we will be looking at how we can enhance our established ‘Maximo Accelerator Service for Oil and Gas Assets’ to be as efficient and cost effective as possible for brown field operators. Maintenance and Asset Management Systems are a core business function to invest in for the future to help reduce overall cost and improve asset performance and reliability.
It can be quite a task to keep up with the ever-changing IT systems landscape. Knowing where to spend budget, and when, to maximise impact to the business by investing in the correct business systems is crucial. Understanding which business functions have the highest overhead costs and were the opportunities are to reduce cost can be daunting. There is a real focus on reducing supply chain and maintenance costs going forward which is something that our solutions supports.
