What is a Maximo Work Center?
IBM introduced Work Centers as part of Maximo 188.8.131.52 which was released in June 2016. A Work Center is a simple yet intuitive new user interface. This simplicity minimizes the training need for new Maximo users. It is also responsive to the device you are using including desktops, laptops, tablets or smart phones with a similar look and feel. With a role-focused display of data, users are equipped with a set of innovative tools and functions to carry out their daily tasks. This is a big change in user experience.

Work Centers are more than Start Centers. They are informative and interactive and provide end-users with all of the actions and functions they need to perform their most critical work efficiently. They allow you to access system data and complete tasks without opening multiple applications. Since the initial release, many new updates and features have been added to Work Centers to continuously improve the user experience.
This blog will provide a quick snapshot of the Work Centers and related tools available in Maximo. In future posts, I will delve into BPD’s experience or provide a use case.
