1. What is your position at BPD Zenith?
I’m a Senior Maximo consultant, involved in delivering projects, change requests, training, onsite support for clients, pre-sales activities etc. I have a strong technical background with a functional outlook.
2. What led you to choose this career path?
I’ve had a passion for computers since my school days, and I continued to pursue it through to university, and completed an under-graduate degree in computer science. After graduating, I went on straight to work for an IT services company. So, technology, computers and IT have been all around me for a long time now.
3. Which part of your job do you most enjoy?
I appreciate that consulting allows me to meet and interact with a lot of different types of people and personalities. It’s very different from working internally for a company where your interactions are limited to the same set of people every day.
4. What do you like about working at BPD Zenith?
We have a good team, not just in the delivery space but also in the management space. There is lot of transparency and professionalism that I see around me. (I particularly liked it when the management informed everybody about the course of action for redundancy measures in the unlikely event of a significant decline in company’s revenue caused by CoVID-19 related economic downturn). I also enjoy representing a Global brand and being provided with the opportunity to work with people from different parts of the world.
5. What are the values that drive you?
I’m a very fact-orientated person, and base my decisions and actions on details. I try to stay away from feelings-based swings. I have seen time and again, that decisions based on feelings and perceptions will ultimately sour work ambience, and will be detrimental for a company’s long-term interest. Hey, this guy is my friend, she is in my social circle, he is a relative, is all good, but in professional realm, if you favour somebody based on those feelings, I believe, it would engender unfairness. We all believe and aspire to a society built on merits, don’t we?
6. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I watch a lot of movies – particularly historical ones, those which depict an era from the past. I am a music lover, sings in a choir, and is also a ‘Working with Children’ volunteer.
7. If you were not a Maximo consultant, what alternative career path would you have chosen and why?
I would have been a bureaucrat representing the federal government of a country.
8. What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re proud of?
I have worked in 4 different countries now– 3 of which as a Maximo specialist. Within the Maximo space, I started in Africa in 2009, then spent a couple of years in the UK, and now in Australia. I have numerous clients from different parts of the world who have vouched for the quality of my work, as well as on-time delivery. I also take pride in being able to experience different work cultures.
9. What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
A long walk does the magic for me.
10. What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
I am a married man with a five-year-old boy, and have familial responsibilities to attend to. In my personal time, I pursue my love for movies, music and volunteering with children.
