Work Supervision Work Center
The Work Supervision Work Center is used by supervisors to create work orders and manage the workload by assigning owners to work orders so they can approve, monitor and close them. This work center has three main tabs on the left navigation pane: Work Progress, Closed Work, and Review Service Requests. Let’s look at the tabs in some more detail.
Work Progress
The work progress tab gives supervisors the ability to create and manage work orders in an easy to use, visually appealing card display. This page is organized into four main tasks that helps the supervisor manage a work order from start to finish.
The Approve Work section lists work orders that need to be approved. You could approve work orders directly from a card, add details to the work plan, assign an owner or owner group to the work order, assign labor and crafts, add comments to communicate with your technicians and attachments.
You could use the Assign Owner section to assign owner and/or owner group to work orders that are not assigned. This action will allow the owner to access the work order in the Work Execution Work Center.
The Monitor Work section displays work that is assigned to an owner or owner group. As the supervisor, you could use this section to effectively monitor important information such as the start date, scheduled finish time, and communicate with the technician of the work order via the comments action, as required.
Work orders with a complete status will be listed under the Close Work section. This section helps supervisors effectively close work orders that are complete. When the work is complete you could review the details reported by the technicians such as the time spent and the items, materials, tools, and services that were used and close the work order. In addition, you can approve outstanding labor transactions and create labor transactions for your technicians and create follow-up work, if necessary.
Closed Work
The Closed Work tab lists all the work orders with “closed” and “cancel” status.
Review Service Requests
On the Review Service Requests tab, you can review requests and determine whether to create work orders to respond to them. You can see information about the service request such as the description of the problem, how urgent it is, and who reported it. When you select the request ID to open the service request, you can see a set of actions on the top; create work, reject, edit status and assign an owner. In addition, from the menu you could chose to create a work order, enter a comment to request more information and if no further action is needed, you can quickly close the request and the submitter will be notified.
Let’s look at a simple example.
