If your Maximo is published on The Internet, you need to secure your REST API!

REST API is not secured out of the box, so basically any person without the need of a Maximo username/password can send REST messages to view or even worse MODIFY(!) your data.
Here is a document that shows how to secure the REST API. You can also read some simple steps in this article to keep your online Maximo safe.
