Candian Natural Resources International extracts more value from maintenance processes: Targeting significant savings with IBM Asset Management solutions
Canadian Natural Resources (CNR) International is the international arm of a Major Exploration and Production Company in Canada, concentrating in the United Kingdom portion of the North Sea and in Offshore Africa.
In its North Sea operations, Canadian Natural Resources International relied on two different maintenance management systems. As a result, it was difficult to optimise maintenance processes or prioritise workload. CNR International decided to migrate to a new software platform: IBM Maximo Asset Management combined with BPD’s Maximo Accelerator Services for Oil and Gas, which both have an excellent reputation in the Oil & Gas industry and are used by many companies in the North Sea and worldwide. Because Maximo is designed to support the kind of best-practice approach that CNR International wanted to introduce, they realised that it could be implemented more or less out-of-the-box, with relatively minimal need for custom development. This, combined with BPD’s services helped CNR International get up and running quickly, and reduced the risk of a long and expensive deployment.
IBM Maximo software combined with BPD’s Accelerator Services for Oil and Gas Assets, enabled Canadian Natural Resources International to build a single strategic system for all the Maintenance Management work which has reduced unnecessary expenditure, eliminated errors and mistakes, and improved the efficiency and safety of operations.
