Maximo® Version 5 to 7.1 Upgrade
BPD Zenith were approached in June 2008 to submit a quotation to carry out an upgrade to the then current version of Maximo® 6.2.
After carrying out the site assessment, BPD were able to submit a fixed-price quotation for the project.
Based on our price and implementation schedule, we were awarded the project.
The project commenced in September 2008 with go-live in December 2008 followed by 30-Day system warranty period to check for bugs. It is a 20 license Maximo® system running on Windows with no interfaces and using Work Management only.

There were 7 reports to convert from Crystal to BIRT. It was this that decided the move to Maximo® 7.1 rather than the planned 6.2, otherwise the reports would have to be transferred to Actuate for 6.2 and then BIRT for 7.1. A few addtional reports were requested in addition to these. As part of the upgrade, BPD carried out user training with a 2-day Administrator course and 2 half day sessions for the operatives.
The total cost of the project was £28,000 fixed price (ex. VAT), with some additional reports and SLA Manager Licenses coming in at less than £1500.
An issue that came out of this particular upgrade was that Version 5 was running well on the existing hardware. Version 7.1 requires a little more power so we recommend that clients assess their hardware requirements as part of the upgrade process, a link is provided above.
